EIFS Fiberglass Mesh

Alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh for External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (EIFS/ETICS) — high tensile strength and dimensional stability.

Overview

CredenTex EIFS Fiberglass Mesh is a specialized alkali-resistant (AR) fiberglass mesh designed for use in External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (EIFS/ETICS). Embedded within base and finish coat layers, this mesh provides mechanical reinforcement that resists cracking from thermal expansion, substrate movement, and impact.

Key Features

  • Alkali-Resistant (AR) Coating: Treated with a proprietary styrene-acrylic or acrylic coating to withstand the high pH environment of cementitious renders (pH 12–13).
  • High Tensile Strength: Engineered to meet EIFS industry requirements for base coat reinforcement — typical range 900–2200 N/5cm depending on grade.
  • Dimensionally Stable: Low elongation ensures crack-bridging effectiveness under thermal cycling and structural loading.
  • Lightweight & Flexible: Conforms easily to curves, corners, and architectural details without bulging.
  • Compatible Standards: Manufactured to meet or exceed ETAG 004 and ASTM E2098 requirements.

Applications

  • EIFS/ETICS base coat reinforcement (wall insulation systems)
  • Thin-joint masonry reinforcement
  • Rendered facade systems over EPS/XPS boards
  • Concrete crack-control reinforcement (light-duty)

Installation Notes

Embed the mesh into the wet base coat while the render is still fresh — overlap adjacent strips by ≥ 10 cm. For corners and building movement joints, use L-shaped corner mesh or additional diagonal reinforcement strips.
